About the Journal
The Journal of the University of Latvia. Law is an open access double blind peer-reviewed scientific journal, which is issued once a year by the University of Latvia.
The Journal of the University of Latvia. Law aims to promote dialogue among lawyers of Latvia, the European Union and other countries about relevant problematic issues in legal science and possible solutions to them within:
- international law;
- European Union law;
- national laws;
- theory, philosophy, history of law and in other dogmatic sub-branches of law.
To ensure accessibility of papers, published in the journal, to the broadest circle of readers, articles are published in English. To ensure scholarly quality, all papers, published in its volumes, have been subject to blind peer review. Two reviewers are appointed for each paper. To increase the recognisability of the journal and international accessibility of the published papers for the broadest circle of readers, since 2017, papers in the journal are published in English.
No fees are charged for the reviewing process and publication.

The Journal of the University of Latvia. Law is included in the international database EBSCO Publishing and ERIH PLUS.
Since 2022, the journal is indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and since 2023 in SCOPUS (the articles are indexed since 2021).
