Review policy and procedure

The editor is guided by the policy that all manuscripts are solely evaluated for their intellectual contribution. Editors, reviewers and the publisher must not disclose any information about a manuscript to any third party.

The practice of double-blind review policy is applied to ensure that excellent research is published. Involvement of two or more experts in the reviewing process helps to maintain high standards of the “Journal of the University of Latvia. History".

Authors of the manuscript may be asked to do several revisions of their paper.

The editor takes the final decision on whether to accept or reject the paper on the basis of the reviewers’ opinions.

Typically, the first round of the reviewing process may take up to one to two months depending on the availability of the reviewers.

It is expected that the author(s) will return their improved paper within two weeks after receiving the reviews.

More than one revision of the article might be requested. The second round of reviews, if needed, may take another few months.

On the basis of the reviews, the editor takes the final decision whether to accept or reject the manuscript.

If the journal is no longer published, all articles will preserve open access at the publisher’s website.
