Author Guidelines
The “Baltic Journal of Psychology” is published by the University of Latvia and is prepared for publication by the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art of the University of Latvia. The journal publishes original papers on current issues in psychology as well as empirical, theoretical, and practical articles on broad aspects of psychology.
Information for authors on submitting manuscripts: Submitted manuscripts, written in English or Latvian, should follow the general style described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th Edition, 2020). Manuscripts are to be submitted electronically. They should not exceed 8000 words (inclusive of references, tables and figures), should be typed double-spaced, with font size 12, and with margins of at least 2.54 cm on all four sides. Acceptable typefaces are Times New Roman or Arial. Title page for the manuscript should show the title of the article, the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the authors, running head and, at the bottom of the page, the name and address of the corresponding author (including postal address with postal code and electronic mail address) to whom proofs and journal copies should be sent. An abstract of up to 150 words should follow the title page on a separate page. A list of 3–5 keywords should be provided directly below the abstract. Each table should be numbered and referred to by number in the text. Each table should be typed on a separate page and have a descriptive title. Each illustration (diagram, chart, photograph, and drawing) should be numbered and referred to by number in the text. Each table should be typed on a separate page and have a descriptive title. References are given at the end of the text. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list in APA format. There is no payment for published papers. Each author will receive a copy of the journal, free of charge.
Submission Preparation Checklist
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
