Abstract

The article briefly summarises the thirteenth seminar on Latvian ancient writings "Latvian writings and articles in the Baltics in the 16th-19th centuries - research topicalities and problems", which took place on 13 January 2023 at the National Library of Latvia in Riga. The papers dealt with the importance of 16th-19th century authors and editions in the history of Latvian written language and literature, as well as linguistic phenomena (lexis, wordsmithing, semantics) in various sources of this period. Among the authors discussed are Georg Mancelis, Christoph Füreker, Friedrich Bernhard Blaufuss, Friedrich Daniel Ware and others. Several papers were also devoted to the recording of place names and personal names in sources of the 17th-19th centuries.
